Ring Size & Metal Guide

RING SIZE GUIDE

We encourage you to visit your local jeweller or jewellery shop to have your finger professionally measured. If you are in Melbourne, you're welcome to book a 30min complimentary consultation with us. You can book here.

Ideally we would recommend having an inside diameter as reference, as it will be the same across all different charts.
Depending on the width of the ring, the ring size might vary. So which ever ring you like, try a ring with similar measurements to make sure the size is comfortable. For instance with wider rings, we recommend going up half a size to ensure the ring is not too tight.

DIFFERENT METALS & GOLD KARATS

Gold comes in different karats. A karat stamp is an indication of the pure gold percentage in mass. The higher the stamp number, the more pure gold there is in the metal.

 * For sensitive skin, we do not recommend anything lower than 18K Gold or Platinum.

Metals & Characteristics:

Sterling Silver - (925) 92.5% pure silver in mass. Our sterling silver is more premium and mixed with platinum giving it a strength of a 9K gold and a nice cold and long lasting white colour.

White gold is mixed with Palladium giving it the white colour (rhodium plated).  White gold is more affordable alternative to platinum. Platinum and white gold look basically the same when new, but over time they wear differently.

* White gold might need more care over time, depending on the wearer. Over time, the protective rhodium layer will eventually wear off, leaving a slight yellowish tinge to the metal. This is common for white gold and just needs to be re-plated and polished to restore the whiteness. Rhodium plating is also nickel free.

Rose gold is mixed with copper to achieve the rosy-pinkish colour.
If you have sensitive skin, we do not recommend 9K rose gold because of the higher % of copper as it can be reactive. It can tend to tarnish quicker than most other gold alloys because of the high copper content. Keep in an anti tarnish bag and out of moist areas if not wearing. The original shine and colour can be restored by professional clean & polish.

Platinum - (PLT) 95% platinum, mixed with 5% palladium. Platinum is a very rare metal and considered more precious than gold. It's a silvery-white, heavier metal because of it's density. Platinum is one of the strongest and purest of the metals. Very durable and keeps it's white colour with only minimal care. All platinum pieces are also rhodium plated. Platinum is significantly more dense than 14k or 18k gold and the identical piece of jewellery in platinum will weigh 60% to 80% more than 14k or 18k gold.

Different karats:

9K Gold - (370) 37.5% pure gold in the metal mass. It's very strong and durable. Is also more affordable because of the lower gold ratio. 9K gold is not suitable for sensitive skin due to the low percentage of gold and high percentage of other metals that can affect sensitive skin. Because of the low % of gold, the colour is either - light yellow for yellow gold or more pink in rose gold (due to higher % of copper). 9K gold can tarnish slightly more easily to other karats.

14K Gold - (585) 58,5% pure gold in the metal mass. We only use 14K yellow and rose gold.

18K Gold - (750) 75% pure gold in the metal mass. More of a warmer colour in yellow and rose gold because of the high percentage of gold. Suitable and recommended for sensitive skin. Keeps it's colour nice and lustrous for a long time.

Other metals:

Platinum - 95% platinum; 5% Palladium. Highly durable and recommended for sensitive skin. Keeps it's colour over time. Low maintenance.
